Total Height Safety is a 100% New Zealand owned and operated family business.  Driven by a desire to protect people and ensure they come home from work safely, Chris and Sonya van Eekelen keep people at the heart of the business.

Chris van Eekelen

Managing Director

Chris has over 30 years experience in the construction industry here in New Zealand and Australia. Chris is innovative with an entrepreneurial spirit, always striving to improve and succeed.  Total Height Safety is a unique business which sits perfectly with Chris’s skills and knowledge, finding the best solutions for projects, and building a business which he believes in and can make a positive difference.

Sonya van Eekelen

Business Facilitator & director

Sonya owned a Robert Harris Franchise for 10 years which consolidated her business skills and gave her the ability to support Chris’s entrepreneurial drive. Her primary passion is working with people which is demonstrated in her 17 years in the health sector as a nurse. Sonya brings the team together and helps to drive and direct the business, promoting a culture of safety for the team as well as Total Height Safety clients.

Joshua van Eekelen

Installation and Inspection Manager

Joshua manages the installation team as well as overseeing the inspections area of the business. Years of practical on-the-job experience combined with the ability to form great working relationships means that Joshua is the perfect choice to manage our team of installers. Working closely with clients he ensures that each project is completed to the highest standard and within the project timeframe.

WILL GILPIN

LEAD INSTALLER

Will has a wealth of experience as one of our longest-serving installers. Renowned for his professional yet approachable demeanor, Will has consistently earned high praise from site managers throughout his tenure. Leading our South Island installation team, he is dedicated to ensuring that every member receives comprehensive training to deliver exceptional workmanship and service to our clients.

Pete Foleni

Lead installer

Pete is a very experienced installer that has been involved with the company for over 8 years. He currently works primarily on our Auckland projects and inspections but can also be found in all sorts of remote corners of the North Island installing or inspecting our versatile systems.

SHARLEEN RANKIN

OFFICE MANAGER

Sharleen is new to our team and brings a wealth of experience in process management and streamlining operations. We look forward to working with her to take the Company to its next exciting stage of expansion.

JULIA BAARS

PROJECT DESIGN AND SALES CONSULTANT

Julia leads on many of our quotes and tenders and her methodical approach ensures that you get the optimum system for your needs. Coming from a Quantity Surveying background means Julia can price even the most complex project well. In her spare time, she enjoys theatre, handicrafts and spending time with family.

LIAM VAN EEKELEN

INSTALLER

Liam has been installing up and down the country for a number of years and he brings great experience to all of our installs. He is currently mentoring some new installers so it is good to know they are in capable hands. When not installing Liam is working towards his pilots license.

NOAH GILPIN

INSTALLER

Our newest apprentice, Noah, is thriving in his new role. He has been all over the country during his first few months and is fitting in great with the team.

VICTORIA ROOKES

PROJECT ADMINISTRATOR

Victoria is the happy face you will be greeted by if you drop in to see us. She brings a great positive and upbeat energy to her space where she ensures that our jobs run smoothly once they leave the design stage through to completion. Victoria will be the person calling you to dial in the details before our ace team arrives to work their magic.

GARY PAIN

INSPECTIONS COORDINATOR

Gary ensures that all customers get their safety systems and PPE inspected on time. He comes from a varied construction background including tiny house building, renewable energy systems and office fit-out in London. Solving challenges is a passion of Gary’s and when not focused on inspections he likes to improve our in-house systems and procedures. A love of nature and any sports or activities that scare him keep Gary busy at the weekends.

DILLON GEDDES

APPRENTICE INSTALLER

Dillon is one of our apprentices, he is loving the high life at work and is a rising star on the rugby field in his spare time.
