The Pacific Tower hotel is located in the heart of Christchurch, and was one of three skyrise buildings that survived the 2010 and 2011 earthquakes. The project scope was to modify the existing handrails to make them safety compliant.

We custom made plates to clamp the new handrail. This involved getting the material to the rooftop where our team then fixed new mid rails to the existing handrail stanchions with a custom made bracket. No penetrations to the existing steel work were made as this was a requirement from the client. All work was conducted whilst working in fall restraint to ensure the safety of our team on this 23 story hotel.
