Hoyts ENTX

Project Overview

The Hoyts cinema complex in Christchurch is New Zealand’s newest retail entertainment hub. It contains 19 eateries and a three level, seven-screen cinema complex, across 10,800m2.

For this landmark development in the heart of Christchurch, we designed and engineered an advanced fall protection system to complement the building’s design and distinctive canopy.

Solution

For this project, we installed 326 metres of lifeline to provide safe roof access.

In order to disguise the 150-metre long section of the horizontal lifeline that runs over architectural ridges of the canopy,  we powder coated it before installation

We also installed handrails, anchor points, ladders, and a platform for roof access.

We will return yearly to inspect the system and ensure the system is fully operational and compliant.

Specs

  • 326 metres of static line
  • 2 anchor points
  • 3 permanent access ladders with platforms
